Mayor Jerry Edwards

As Mayor, I will provide leadership to our city government promoting growth and the quality of life.  One of the most important aspects of city government is community involvement at a grass roots level.  I want to involve our citizens in the decision making process as much as possible.  Citizen Advisory Committee’s will be formed to offer you the opportunity to get involved in the process by offering expertise, direction and input to our appointed boards and the City Council.  Community support will provide:

·   TTax rates, utility rates and municipal fees that are reasonable and maintained at the lowest possible cost to effectively provide the needed services;

  • grants and other sources of revenue to build or repair our infrastructure;

  • increased businesses within our community;

  • increased jobs;

  • increased sales tax revenue; and

  • improve our quality of life

My vision of Quitman is one which our children and grandchildren will realize the dedication we have put forth for them to have a better community to raise their families.  Together, neighbor working with neighbor, we can begin building that future!
